The lodge is five thousand square feet of rustic luxury, perched on a hill overlooking pecan trees and lush fields where Buffalo wander less than a hundred yards from my window. It’s a noble cabin with four master bedrooms, each having it’s own private bath. The rooms are spacious enough to accommodate this group of seasoned outdoorsmen, but elegant enough to pamper couples wanting a weekend getaway. In the great room, vaulted ceilings and slate floors accompany leather sofas and chairs, where our pre-dinner conversation by the fireplace accompanied tasty cocktails. The chef has prepared meals from exotic game and fresh ingredients elevating lodge fare to a whole new level. And, in the cool of night, under a canopy of stars, our conversation has been kept warm with the dancing fire and delicious coffee.
